Materials and device architecture development and characterization

The National Research Council (CNR) is the largest public research institution in Italy under the Research Ministry. CNR’s mission is to perform research in its own Institutes, to promote innovation and competitiveness of the national industrial system, to advice Government and other public bodies, and to contribute to the qualification of human resources. CNR personnel comprises more than 8.000 employees. In addition, about 4.000 young researchers are engaged in postgraduate studies and research training.

The Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems (IMM) will work in AMPERE. The Institute has a staff of 117 Researchers, 47 post-docs, 61 PhD students, and 78 technical and administrative personnel. The research activity of IMM is focused on innovative solutions, materials, processes for microelectronics, CMOS, power FETs, optoelectronics, photovoltaics, photonics, and sensors. The Catania section of IMM, with 33 staff people, will be in charge of the AMPERE project.
